Phase 1
“I’m not gay – I have just fallen in love with someone who happens to be a girl. You wouldn’t understand”.

Phase 2 - denial
date a boy, but know something doesn't feel right
Phase 3
your journey along the "spectrum of sexuality"
most people who later come out as gay generally start with the "I'm bisexual" phrase...
where being gay becomes somewhat of an obsession. you hit the pink strip, suddenly find yourself surrounded by fabulous gay men and can't stop talking about your new found sexuality...
Phase 5 - post gay
where you learn to define yourself outside of your sexuality and your "gay obsession" ceases considerably...
I have heard that with lesbians the end of this phase is marked by LBD (lesbian bed death)... here's to hoping this is a lie...
Nice post Jacqui.
ReplyDeleteA pity not everyone reaches Phase 5 :-)
